Welcome Back to school

We can hardly believe that our first term in reception class has already come to an end and the spring term has started! The children couldn't wait to tell us all about their christmas presents and the lovely time that they had. They have all settled back into the new term, excitied to see their friends and have been working hard. I can't believe how much their have grown in two weeks!

We are kicking off the new term with a mini topic based on 'Winter' which will be loosely based on the story of 'The Gruffalo's Child'. This will involve lots of out door activites where we will be mixing magic 'sleep' potions (the smellier the better!) to keep the Gruffalo sleeping while we look for his treasure. We have been using our imagination to draw pictures of Jack Frost and the children have also painted beautiful winter pictures using blues, silvers and shades of white. As the term progresses we will be looking at 'Chinese New Year' and our main topic of 'Prince and Princesses'.

Thank you to all those parents who promptly paid their snack money and can I also remind parents to return PE kits to school (if you haven't already done so) as well as the children's 'Sound books' for undating and reading books on your child's designated reading day.

As always, thank you for your continuing support and if you have any concern, query or you would just like a progress update on your child, please do not hesitate to come and see me - every effort will be made to see you at a convienient time.
